Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial services institution, is seeking a Lead Engineer to play a critical role on their Communications Team as part of a large-scale FinTech digital transformation. This hands-on, senior-level role involves significant technical leadership responsibilities, working across the full stack and owning complex integrations and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise integrations using MuleSoft and develop scalable cloud-native solutions in AWS.

Responsibilities

Serve as a Lead Engineer and technical authority on the Communications Team

Design, build, and maintain enterprise integrations using MuleSoft

Develop and manage scalable cloud infrastructure and services in AWS

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices

Design and develop responsive frontend applications using Angular

Translate wireframes and requirements into high-quality, scalable UI solutions

Ensure performance, accessibility, security, and reliability across applications

Partner with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to drive technical strategy

Mentor engineers, support onboarding, and influence engineering best practices

Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning

Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application, integration, and data layers

Act as a trusted technical partner across teams and organizational boundaries

Required

5–7+ years of experience as a Senior, Lead, or Staff Software Engineer

Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft (Anypoint Platform) – must-have skill

Deep experience designing API-led connectivity (System, Process, Experience APIs)

Strong AWS experience (VPC, S3, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, etc.)

Advanced proficiency in Python (preferred) or Java

Experience building backend services with Node.js

3–5+ years of professional frontend experience with Angular and TypeScript

Strong understanding of REST APIs, integrations, and data transformation pipelines

Experience working with SQL and modern databases (RDS, Redshift, Snowflake, or similar)

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins/GitLab, Jira, and Confluence

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with senior leaders

Comfortable operating independently and managing multiple priorities

Preferred

Advanced proficiency in Python (preferred) or Java
