Senior Accountant

LHH is partnering with a growth-focused, privately held company to hire a Senior Accountant. This fully remote role will be responsible for month-end close, financial statement preparation, and audit readiness while driving process improvements across the accounting function.

Responsibilities

Help with the close : Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses for a timely, accurate month-end and quarter-end close
Financial reporting : Produce GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports; support KPIs and dashboards that translate numbers into insight
Audit & compliance : Serve as a key contact for external auditors; maintain and enhance internal controls and documentation (SOX-lite environment)
Process improvement : Identify gaps, streamline workflows, and automate reconciliations to shorten the close cycle and reduce manual work
Cross-functional partnering : Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and People teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
Technical accounting : Research and apply relevant guidance (e.g., ASC 606 revenue, ASC 842 leases) and help draft accounting memos as needed
Scale enablement : Support multi-entity consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and system enhancements as the company grows

Required

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting audit (Big 4 or large regional highly preferred)
Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (active or in progress) strongly preferred
Solid command of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit-ready documentation
Strong Excel/Google Sheets; experience with a modern ERP (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders in a remote setting
Remote, U.S. (ability to work core U.S. business hours)
Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future

Preferred

Experience in multi-entity environments and consolidations
Background supporting revenue recognition, lease accounting, or inventory/cost (depending on your industry exposure)
Prior involvement in ERP implementations or finance tool rollouts (BlackLine, FloQast, etc.)
