They are seeking a Public Administration Intern to provide support within the Town Manager's Office, engaging in various project-based initiatives that include public policy analysis, communication campaigns, and data analysis tools development.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Public policy, municipal code, state statute, and administrative procedures analysis and application
Public meeting administration
Application of automation to digital records management
Draft summaries of public meetings to use as public education tools
Develop visual guides that explain public meeting lifecycles
Website content, visual, and infrastructure design
Create and execute subject-specific communications and information campaigns
Script information for both internal and external communication platforms
Develop and produce video messaging highlighting departments, projects, and professionals
Create an organized catalog of digital imagery
Create Strategic Planning visuals and videos to tell the story of the Plan’s action items to achieve the Plan’s milestones
Develop, write, and edit news releases, social media posts, and articles
Amplify key messages from all departments
Analyze communication and associated data for clarity, consistency, and timeliness
Synthesize formal material and formatting to improve digestibility
Align the strategic plan with the internal performance management system, Town Council Agenda Items, and the Budget
Develop and automate tools for data analysis for the Town’s website, public meetings, public records requests, and meeting software
Develop dashboards and reports
Develop education, training, and information materials for new employees, Town officials, and the community
Learn and deploy new software and develop training and support material
Qualification
Required
Current or recent undergraduate or graduate student from an accredited college/university
Academic major in Public Administration, Political Science, Communication, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or applicable field of study
