Responsibilities
Lead crews across diverse projects
Perform minor repairs and coordinate vendor work
Mentor staff to foster a culture of excellence
Manage essential records and provide critical support for special events
Qualification
Required
In-depth knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, and methods used in maintenance, construction, and repair activities
Understanding safety practices related to building and construction trades
Familiarity with the principles governing infrastructure operations in the Public Works Department, including streets and vehicle maintenance
Effective leadership abilities to train personnel and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, vendors, contractors, the public, and city officials
Proficiency in utilizing asset management tools such as ArcGIS and work order systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan, prioritize, and implement effective maintenance strategies across various facilities
Knowledge of methods and procedures used in construction and repair of operations of light equipment, vehicles, tools, facilities, and landscaping
Safe practices for operations, handling materials, and best practices in the areas of janitorial services, drainage maintenance, construction, and traffic control
Grade/elevation (transit) measurements; implement erosion/silt-control practices and field BMPS
Contractor oversight and vendor coordination practices
Basic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, emails, and the ability to learn basic computer tasks and other applications
