The Process Improvement Engineer will support process and performance improvement activities, serving as a consultant and educator to internal clients, while utilizing industrial and systems engineering tools to drive improvements and sustain results.

Responsibilities

Supports process and performance improvement activities throughout Capital Health (CH)

Assists in making significant changes in clinical, operational or transformational processes through planning, developing, and implementing performance assessments and interventions

Serves as an internal process and performance improvement consultant and educator to internal clients including department managers and hospital administration

Utilizes industrial and systems engineering tools and techniques together with other proven improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, as needed

Serves as a coach/mentor, role model, and change agent to Capital Health management in assessing and identifying their own performance improvement needs and opportunities as well as drive improvements and sustain results

Required

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Operations Research, Organizational Development, Education, Finance, Management, Healthcare Administration, or other related field

Three years' experience in performing and/or facilitating process/operations improvement activities

Strong service orientation required

Must be able to communicate effectively with client personnel and employees at all organizational levels

Develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources

Making presentations, serving as an instructor, and presenting timely reports to management

Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills

Change management skills required

Demonstrates understanding of operational, financial and human resource implications of large-scale change efforts

Demonstrates strong team dynamics and intervention skills

Able to lead, organize and conduct educational activities for all levels of the organization

Preferred

Master's degree

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification

Basic knowledge of a discrete event simulation tool and statistical analysis tool (i.e. Minitab)
