Financial Modelling Analyst
Shop Online New York is an e-commerce company preparing for launch, seeking a Financial Modeling Analyst Intern. The intern will build and maintain financial models to support various business functions, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide insights for decision making.

Responsibilities
Build a three-statement, driver-based model with monthly granularity (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) tied to operational inputs
Create SKU/channel revenue builds (traffic → conversion → AOV → returns) with sensitivity and scenario toggles
Model unit economics and cohort LTV, CAC/payback, contribution margin, and retention curves
Construct working capital schedules (AR, AP, inventory turns) and 13-week cash flow forecasts
Develop landed cost and COGS frameworks (freight, duties, warehouse fees) and link to pricing scenarios
Produce scenario and sensitivity analyses (best/base/worst cases; data tables; scenario manager)
Build valuation-ready artifacts when appropriate (high-level DCF inputs, comparable framework)
Document assumptions, version models, and maintain audit trails aligned with SOPs
Convert insights into concise memos and simple dashboards for non-finance stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills: nested logic, lookups, dynamic arrays, pivot tables, data tables, error handling; comfort building from a blank workbook
Experience assembling clean inputs and joins
Understanding of e-commerce metrics and levers (conversion, AOV, churn/retention, contribution margin, CAC/LTV)
Familiarity with inventory and working capital mechanics (inventory turns, AR/AP cycles)
Ability to design clear model architecture, separate inputs/logic/outputs, and enforce version control
Strong communication skills to explain assumptions, risks, and results to non-finance teams
Preferred
SQL or Python for analysis preferred
Experience with a BI tool (Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI) is a plus
