Responsibilities
Prepare interim and annual financial statements, including supporting schedules, for review by executive finance leadership
Record and manage journal entries, including multi-entity allocations, intercompany transactions, monthly and year-end adjusting entries, and detailed account analysis
Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheet schedules, and reports for external auditors and respond to management requests
Oversee daily operations of the General Accounting Department, including training staff and cross-coverage planning
Perform monthly allocation of physician corporate costs across affiliated entities
Manage reconciliations between all affiliated entities
Administer physician compensation and contract management for 200+ employed and 1099 physicians, including implementation of compensation models aligned with organizational strategy and regulatory compliance (fair market value standards)
Coordinate with external auditors, including workers’ compensation audits
Interface with external accountants to provide data for corporate tax returns, including detailed financial analysis and research
Prepare quarterly and annual federal and state tax filings for affiliated entities
Complete financial questionnaires, statistical reports, and documentation required by government agencies, financial institutions, and external organizations
Serve as a point of contact for physicians regarding financial and compensation inquiries
Prepare financial data for guaranteed and cardiology physicians
Develop and prepare budgets for affiliated entities for executive review
Review and approve payment requests for affiliated entities
Handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity
Lead or support special projects and additional finance-related initiatives as assigned
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Minimum of 4–5 years of accounting experience required, preferably in healthcare or multi-entity environments
Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting-related software
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
High attention to detail and accuracy
Professional discretion when handling confidential data
Preferred
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
