Responsibilities
Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times
Conduct regular and random patrols around the campus buildings and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior. Working environments and conditions may vary by location
Observe and report any unusual activities, hazards, or security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel
Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and addressing unauthorized individuals as needed
Support emergency response protocols by assisting with evacuations and/or providing directions during drills and real incidents
Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and security-related matters as required by Allied Universal and site-specific guidelines
Qualification
Required
Be at least 21 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only
Preferred
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred
