Responsibilities
Acquisitions & Dispositions: Draft, negotiate, and close purchase and sale agreements; manage title and survey review; coordinate due diligence and closings
Joint Ventures: Structure and negotiate complex real estate joint ventures; draft and revise LLC and limited partnership agreements
Financing: Negotiate and prepare loan documents; support secured and mezzanine financings for commercial properties and development projects
Leasing: Draft and negotiate office, retail, industrial, and specialty leases (experience with data center leasing is helpful, not required)
Construction Transactional Work: Prepare and negotiate design and architect agreements, construction contracts, engineering and consulting agreements, licenses and easements, development management agreements, and project management agreements
General Transactional Support: Lead and coordinate deal teams; manage due diligence workstreams; communicate with clients and counterparties; drive transactions from LOI through closing
Qualification
Required
Previous experience at a major law firm — required
Admission to the State Bar of California
3–6 years of relevant real estate experience (considering strong 2–4 year candidates for JV-focused roles)
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: acquisitions/dispositions, joint ventures, financing (including loan document negotiation), commercial leasing, and/or construction transactional agreements
Exceptional writing, organizational, analytical, and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail
Ability to thrive as part of a team while maintaining significant individual responsibility on fast-moving matters
High level of academic achievement
Preferred
Track record with complex, highly sophisticated JV structures and partnership/LLC agreements
Experience with title and survey review and closing purchase and sale transactions
Demonstrated interest in the real estate industry (e.g., participation in ULI, NAIOP, CREFC)
Exposure to data center leasing (helpful but not required)
