Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of chassis mounting systems – including body mounts, engine/transmission mounts, exhaust and frame mounts, and suspension attachment points – to optimize vehicle performance and NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) characteristics. Generate 3D CAD models and technical drawings in CATIA V5 for components and assemblies
Support structural and durability analyses (using FEA, multibody dynamics, etc.) to validate designs under real-world load and vibration conditions. Iterate designs based on simulation and test feedback to ensure robustness and compliance with engineering requirements
Develop, support & execute test plans for prototypes (physical or virtual) to validate load paths, strength, and fatigue life of mounts. Work closely with test engineers to build, instrument, and evaluate prototypes. Incorporate test results into design refinements and ensure the final product meets all functional and safety targets
Collaborate with powertrain, suspension, body-in-white, manufacturing, and NVH teams to ensure seamless integration of chassis mount systems into the vehicle. Ensure designs meet all relevant In-House due care, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and SAE regulations for structural components and safety-related systems. Maintain knowledge of FMVSS requirements and SAE standards to guide design decisions
Prepare and review detailed design documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Manage component release processes, ensuring data integrity and that all design releases meet company and regulatory standards. Lead design reviews and sign-off processes to guarantee quality and manufacturability
Engage with suppliers (Tier-1 or OEM) to clarify design requirements, resolve engineering issues, and support tooling or production changes. Manage design change processes and component updates, ensuring timely implementation of modifications. Establish and maintain strong working relationships across engineering disciplines to meet project milestones and deliverables
Act as a technical lead and mentor for junior chassis engineers. Provide guidance on engineering best practices, CAD/FEA techniques, and project execution. Foster a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and encouraging innovative problem-solving. Lead by example in meeting objectives, timelines, and high-quality standards
Occasional domestic and international travel (approximately 20%) to our Korean HQ, supplier facilities, chassis component manufacturers, and CA test tracks are expected. Travel may also include collaboration with off-site engineering teams or attendance at industry events
