Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end design and architecture for complex Pega applications supporting IRS initiatives
Translate business needs into robust Pega technical solutions
Establish Pega best practices, guardrails, coding standards, and reusable frameworks
Oversee system integration design (APIs, microservices, legacy systems)
Conduct design reviews, performance tuning, and technical optimization
Mentor and guide Pega developers (CSSAs, CSAs)
Partner with IRS stakeholders, business analysts, and technical leads
Ensure compliance with Federal IT, security, and accessibility requirements
Qualification
Required
Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) – mandatory
Active IRS MBI Clearance – required for consideration
10+ years of IT experience; 6+ years of hands-on Pega implementation experience
Proven architecture experience on large, enterprise Pega programs
Strong experience with Pega integrations (REST, SOAP, Kafka, JMS, etc.)
Background in Agile/Scrum delivery
Experience supporting federal government programs (IRS preferred)
Preferred
Experience with AWS or cloud-hosted Pega environments
Knowledge of IRS systems or other federal financial systems
DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines for Pega
Experience leading multi-team/multi-vendor environments
