Responsibilities
Lead architecture and design for complex, large-scale cloud services with high availability and performance requirements
Drive technical strategy and make decisions that influence multiple teams and product areas
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into robust, scalable solutions
Break down complex projects into actionable tasks, provide accurate estimations, and ensure timely delivery
Develop high-quality, secure, and compliant solutions leveraging modern engineering practices
Analyze production telemetry and performance metrics to optimize reliability and efficiency
Champion improvements in engineering processes, automation, and operational excellence
Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
Partner across geographies and disciplines to deliver impactful solutions aligned with business goals
Advocate for customer-centric design and drive innovation in commerce platform capabilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
3+ years' experience in design and implementation of large-scale cloud services
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, scalability patterns, and fault-tolerant design
Experience with REST APIs, messaging systems (Service Bus, Event Hub), and cloud storage (Cosmos DB)
Proficiency in debugging, performance optimization, and data-driven problem-solving
Hands-on experience deploying, monitoring, and operating services in Azure or similar cloud environments
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical projects
Curiosity and commitment to leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance engineering effectiveness
