Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, integrate, tune, and deliver advanced Power Systems Application software
Ensure successful delivery aligned with corporate project and product commitments
Collaborate with: Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs)
Participate in: Functional software specifications, Application integration and deployment, Customer technical discussions and reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years experience in Power System Applications (Generation), including: Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load Frequency Control (LFC), Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow, State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Operator Training Simulator (OTS)
Proficient in Linux and Windows
Experience with communication protocols: IEC 60870-5-101 / 104, DNP3, Modbus, ICCP, OPC
Experience with relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server
Programming / scripting experience: C, C++, PERL, or similar, SQL and shell scripting
Experience installing fixes and patches on live customer EMS systems
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
EMS administration: Application configuration, Performance tuning, Security patching, Perform corrective actions to restore failing or failed EMS services, Code review, deployment, testing, monitoring of: Break/fix patches, System modification
Ability to manage client discussions and technical reviews
Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
Preferred
Master's with specialization in Power System Applications (PSA)
Hands-on experience with: GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) (Highly Preferred), AEMS / GDC platforms, Equivalent EMS platforms from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, or similar
Familiarity with project management tools: MS Project, Primavera (or similar)
