TCD TECH
UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center is seeking a TCD Technologist to prepare and complete Transcranial Dopplers to evaluate blood flow in the brain's major arteries. The role involves assisting with instructing staff and maintaining supplies in the Neurodiagnostics lab while ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
Performs TCD studies and creates reports for patients following the guidelines and procedures of The American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN) and The American Academy of Neurology (AAN)
Recognizes and troubleshoots physiologic and non-physiological artifact and technical issues, taking reasonable steps to obtain quality TCD results on each patient; performs TCD studies independently in routine settings under the direct supervision of our Neurologists
Cleans, replenishes, maintains and assures availability of instruments and supplies needed for studies
Assist clinical staff with TCD coding, and scheduling as needed
Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree
Education specialization: Related Discipline
1 year directly related experience
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Working conditions: Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
May be required or is required to rotate work shifts
May be required or is required to perform on-call duties
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo
Registration in EEG; ABRET Registration evoked potentials
