Laying out, cutting, assembling, and installing metal parts for the construction, maintenance, and repair of ships and other marine vessels
Interpreting blueprints
Welding
Fabricating
Ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
Collaboration with team members
Addressing technical challenges
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings for shipfitting purposes
Experience with cutting, welding, and fabricating metal components
Ability to use tools such as grinders, torches, and saws for fitting and assembly
Knowledge of marine vessel construction and repair techniques
Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
Problem-solving and teamwork skills to efficiently address technical challenges
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as welding certifications are a plus
Prior shipfitting experience in a maritime or industrial environment preferred
