Director of Donor Development

Sun Valley Youth Center is seeking a Director of Donor Development to design and implement a comprehensive donor relations and fund development plan. This role focuses on building donor trust, managing fundraising events, and ensuring effective stewardship of donors.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, evaluate a comprehensive Development and stewardship plan to build donor trust through consistent and meaningful contact
Plan a strategy for including major donors and the Board of Directors
Inform the ED, and Board of Directors of important information regarding corporations and major donors, i.e., birthdays, anniversaries, special accomplishments, in connection with cultivations and solicitations
Reporting on current fund development and donor cultivation efforts on a monthly basis (usually at the monthly board meetings, unless otherwise noted)
Develop SVYC corporate partnerships program and manage and expand portfolio of corporate funders
Reengage/recreate the resource development commit
Attend all required annual trainings, and opportunities
Attend annual workshops and opportunities for growth
Attend all training on management software used by the SVYC to ensure capacity to Manage the donor relations tools
Plan, organize all fundraising events for the Sun Valley Youth Center
Ensure that trustees and other major donors and donor prospects are included in appropriate events and are recognized for their service and generosity
Solicit vendors and sponsors for each of the Fundraising events, work along staff in acquiring the donations for upcoming fundraising events
Manage and improve the current donor recognition system, which includes coordination of phone calls, special correspondence, handwritten thank you notes and onsite tours
Manage stewardship plans for gifts, including donor recognition/stewardship, events, plaques, publicity plans, and customized reporting of gift impact
Lead and implement the annual year end giving campaign, or other campaigns as needed
Deposit checks and class on receipts and deposits spreadsheet
Support with donor data entry for new donors
Manage the email platform
Coordinate personalized opportunities for donors to visit the center
Manage SVYC corporate partnerships program
Scheduling donation pick ups
Develop and implement strategies for the cultivation and stewardship of current and prospective individual donors, including major donors and the Board of Directors
Plan and execute a series of annual fundraising appeals including Giving Tuesday and Colorado Gives Day
Conduct research on current and prospective individual donor
Scheduling donation pick ups
Oversee coordination and implementation of fundraising and cultivation events (Summer Fundraiser, Art Auction)
Supervise special event vendors and/or consultants, as needed
Partner with the SVYC Team to draft voice and content for external communications and donor messaging
Create and/or oversee the creation of donor communications, including donor newsletter, annual report, e-blasts, and fundraising appeals
Manage the calendar of ongoing donor communications
Oversee fundraising efforts on social media, including supervising consultants and/or staff, as needed
Maintain official social media accounts and engage with followers/build an online following
Stay up to date on program strategy and activities
Work with appropriate program staff to find funding for current needs
Design, implement and manage all systems and processes needed to carry out fundraising plans
Create and maintain policies and procedures for development operations, including fundraising communications, prospect research, moves management, and gift processing and acknowledgement
Oversee the management of SVYC fundraising database, establishing and implementing protocols for data entry and maintenance, and generating lists, exports, and reports
Lead the process for identifying and/or creating more efficient and integrated data management systems

Required

Minimum of a bachelor's degree
5 or more years of relevant experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Word processing skills
Microsoft Office experience
Excel experience

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work well with others
