The role involves preparing high-quality legal briefs and filings for EOIR and federal circuit courts, managing caseloads, and collaborating with the Immigration Team.

Responsibilities

Draft memorandums, appeals, and other legal documents for immigration-related appellate work, ensuring thorough legal analysis and attention to detail
Prepare and file appeals before EOIR, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and federal circuit courts
Draft and submit motions to reopen in complex immigration cases, particularly those requiring nuanced legal arguments
Handle cases involving FOIA requests, effectively analyzing documents to inform legal strategies and appeals
Collaborate with the legal team to develop strong case arguments for clients facing removal or seeking relief
Stay current on developments in immigration law, especially those relevant to appellate and federal cases
Maintain organized case files and documentation, ensuring compliance with court and firm standards

Required

At least 4-5 years of Immigration Law Experience with a focus on legal writing and appellate work

Excellent legal writing and research skills, with a proven ability to produce high-quality written work
Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team
