Responsibilities

Defines, coordinates and controls the functional and physical interfaces between the propulsion system and the vehicle
Configures or designs propulsion sub-systems and components to meet all vehicle design and performance specifications
Contributes to or leads a range of testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation activities aimed at predicting and validating system performance
Development of concepts for future propulsion systems to meet anticipated requirements
Support development of specifications and architectural and configuration concepts for associated vehicle systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements
Propulsion vendor management and coordination
Works independently under direction from Subject Matter Experts
Ability to mentor early career engineers

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
3 years or more in applying knowledge of internal and external flow characteristics related to inlets, nozzles, and engine operation with the capability to perform propulsion system analysis tasks
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. 'U.S. Person' includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Preferred

Ability to obtain addition accesses/clearances post hire
9+ years of relevant work experience
Understanding of the interactions between propulsion, aerodynamics, and flight controls as part of a collaborative Flight Sciences engineering team
Foundational knowledge of gas turbine engine operation and thermodynamics
Experience with real world component and hardware integration
Experience with thermodynamic cycle modeling tools & methods
