Business Services Coord I / Financial Examiner Interns (Temporary)

The NC Office of State Human Resources is seeking interns for the NC Banking Commission to assist in various financial examination tasks. Interns will work directly with experienced employees to gather, organize, and analyze financial institution data while gaining knowledge of financial industry laws and regulations.

Introduction to bank earnings
Conduct review and assessment of Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income
Review Bank Capital
Prepare workpapers on policies and procedures
CALL Report spreading
Gathering, organizing, and analyzing financial institution data and industry information

Required

Rising college senior attending an institution of higher education
Minimum of (2) accounting courses
At least 18 years old
Permanent resident of North Carolina
3.0 or higher GPA
No sponsorships
Clear credit and criminal background check
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Demonstrate the ability to learn laws, rules, regulations, industry standards, and accounting/reporting processes applicable to banking
Ability to apply this knowledge in analyzing the financial records of banks by identifying areas of risk, material deficiencies, and violations of state and federal laws and regulations

Benefits

Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).
