Senior Cloud Engineer

The Senior Cloud Engineer will implement and maintain cloud services, develop IT solutions, and ensure optimal performance of systems while providing Level 3 support for incidents and requests.

Responsibilities
Provide L3 support for VMs / servers, Cloud services, incidents and requests. Troubleshoot any alerts, review logs and ensure business continuity. Provide support to the L2 team for the daily backups and resolve any missing backups to ensure data and system recovery is secured. Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for P1 /P2 Incidents with clear preventive actions and milestones and targets. – 20%
Lead or participate in Infrastructure Projects to provide Cloud services and On-Prem server hosting solution. This is including setting up new Linux / Windows systems, create VNETs / review policies for new Firewall rules, routing and Azure Network definition and requirements. This includes on premise hosting and in-cloud hosting, working closely with our IT partners and on-site Field Service Engineers. – 35%
Proactively manage the hosting platform to ensure all systems are performing and prevent events that will be impacting performance or creating incidents. Improve system monitoring capabilities and alerting, to ensure the correct notifications are logged, recorded and the ensure the right support process are followed. Lead the lifecycle / Operating System / Security patching activities on the required devices and OS systems. Proactively ensure IT environments can be supported and provide the expected security and support levels. –35%
Recommend improvements in Hosting environment to improve performance, availability, value, consistency, compliance. Improve Hosting team procedures, standards, policies, documentation to increase speed, efficiency, effectiveness of team services. Offer suggestions to use newer techniques and technologies or better use existing technologies to improve the value provided by the Hosting team to the organization. - 10%
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or similar level work experience, preferably in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field
Minimum of 8+ years of IT System and Cloud experience
Excellent experience in the Azure Cloud Platform and services
Scripting experience required (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Azure CLI)
Container experience required (AKS, Kubernetes, Docker)
Good understanding and experience with Linux (SUSE) and Window Server platforms
Good understanding of monitoring of cloud services
Good understanding of backup and DR services (Commvault)
Good understanding of Networking Basics (IPv4, subnetting, CIDR, OSI)
Willing to learn new skills, open to change, adaptable, and customer focused
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work effectively internally and externally
Strong analytic troubleshooting skills
Understand business acumen and can translate this into solutions
Able to lead projects and implementations
Collaborate effectively with team members, other teams and vendor/partner teams
English is mandatory, both written and verbal
Flexible in working hours (early or late internal conference calls with the other regions)
