Vascular Access Nurse Consultant - PICC RN
VIC the PICC is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will collaborate with clinical teams to resolve venous access issues, providing a range of vascular access services and education to nursing staff.

Responsibilities
Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation
Assist with management of PICCs and Vascular Access devices
Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including but not limited to port access, removal of lines, declotting, etc
Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and many other CVAD's
Consultants visit patients in different customer facilities and therefore must be willing to travel to customer facilities and able to fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated based on business needs. Full-time scheduling requirements include three to four days per week, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation. Part-time (Per Diem) scheduling requirements include a minimum of 4 scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and participation in the holiday rotation
Qualification
Required
Registered Nurse with current license
Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care preferred
American Heart BLS Certification
Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs
Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound
Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Ability to work independently
Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification
Possess a current and valid driver's license and auto insurance
Must possess a smart phone
Access to reliable transportation for travel to patient sites
Preferred
Ideal candidates are experienced in both ultrasound guided IV (USGIV) placements and vascular access device (VAD) insertions
Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience
Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses, but additional training available for those with strong USGIV skills
