Accounting Associate
Rhythm Healthcare is a leading provider of Respiratory, DME and HME products in the medical equipment manufacturing industry. They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to support end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, as well as general accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AR and AP and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct collection efforts for past-due business accounts via phone and email
Process and apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wires, credit cards)
Investigate and resolve short payments and account discrepancies
Set up and maintain customer accounts, including credit applications and credit checks
Reconcile AR ledger to ensure accurate payment and invoice application
Review and resolve invoicing issues; generate and distribute monthly statements
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve billing-related issues
Collaborate with internal teams on returns, credits, and warranty claims
Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Manage vendor setup, documentation, and communications
Ensure proper approvals and coding in accordance with internal controls
Prepare and support weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, check)
Resolve invoice discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries
Reconcile AP subledger and support aging and accrual reviews
Assist with vendor statement reconciliation and ensure accurate recordkeeping
Prepare and post journal entries related to AR, AP, and other financial activities
Assist with monthly account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close
Support preparation of financial reports and internal documentation
Provide support for audits and ad hoc financial projects
Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of combined B2B AR and AP experience (required)
Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and internal controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Flexible, self-motivated, and eager to take initiative in a collaborative environment
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
