Temp HRIS Analyst-2

William & Mary Libraries is seeking a Temp HRIS Analyst-2 to support their HRIS operations using Workday. The role involves system implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of HRIS, along with providing operational support and ensuring data integrity.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements, implement system updates, enhancements, and new functionalities to Workday and ancillary systems (PeopleSoft Cardinal system used by Commonwealth of Virginia, VNAV system used by VRS, and TIAA)
Understand relationships and dependencies within systems. Develop and implement unit and end-to-end test plans. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with institutional policies and standards
Create and maintain technical documentation for our configuration. Provide end-user support and training on Workday functionality and features as needed
Stay current with Workday releases, updates, and new features, evaluating their potential impact on the organization’s processes. Participate in the design and implementation of system improvements and new functionalities to support evolving business needs. Participate in change management approach and training development/delivery as needed to facilitate end user adoption
Resolve system configuration issues, working with IT as needed
Ensure ongoing compliance with security management. Routinely audit security profiles and assignments
Respond to customer tickets and inquiries within 2 business days
Review interface jobs, identifying and resolving issues as needed
Use SQL to pull data from Banner, our legacy system. Generate reports, using SQL library as a starting point and modifying as needed

Required

Experience as a Workday HRIS analyst or similar role, including experience with at least two of the following modules: Core HCM, Core Compensation / Advanced Compensation, Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits, Time Tracking & Absence, Payroll, Learning, Talent & Performance
Experience implementing or supporting Workday HCM
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Ability to create test scenarios for end-to-end testing
Ability to create basic Workday reports and dashboards
Strong understanding of HR functions and processes
Proficiency in Excel or similar application
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders within HR and university end users
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field. In lieu of bachelor's degree, equivalent training, education, or experience
At least 2 years of higher education experience or similar industry
One or more Workday Pro certifications, preferably in Time & Absence and Recruiting
2+ years experience with Workday modules
Experience managing Workday security
Proficiency in querying a relational database (e.g., with SQL)
Experience with other HR technologies or tools (Banner, PeopleAdmin, Cornerstone, or PeopleSoft)
