Santa Barbara Foundation is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their accounting team within the Finance and Administration Department. The role involves supporting the Finance Department with day-to-day operations and special projects as requested.

Responsibilities

Process cash receipts, including fund coding and batching
Monitor bank accounts for activity daily and provide Donor Relations team with incoming wire specifications for gift entry
Enter A/P invoices in FE NXT
Prepare journal entries
Update fee schedules and allocation pools related to Capital Preservation funds in FE
Prepare monthly giving group reports and other fund reports ad hoc
Prepare monthly budget to actual operating expense reports
Reconcile Gifts/Grants between FE, RE and FC databases monthly
Serve as a backup for Senior Accountant A/P processing and grant disbursement functions
Serve as backup to Donor Relations team for gift recording
Assist with the preparation of quarterly fund holder statements
Assist in recordkeeping and reporting for external grants
Keep MS Outlook calendar populated as per SBF standard
Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Accounting or bookkeeping experience

Preferred

Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance preferred
Blackbaud Raiser's Edge (RE), Financial Edge (FE) and NPact Foundation Cloud (FC) experience is a plus
