Software Support Technician
Terralogic Document Systems is seeking a dedicated Software Support Technician to join their IT team. In this role, you will provide essential support for a wide range of software applications, focusing on content management systems, and assist with in-house IT infrastructure maintenance and general IT support tasks.
Responsibilities
Provide daily technical support for various software packages, including content management systems
Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues reported by end-users, including installation, configuration, updates, and integration problems
Assist in maintaining and optimizing in-house IT infrastructure, such as servers, networks, and hardware components
Perform routine IT support duties, including user account management, hardware setup, software deployments, and basic cybersecurity measures
Support occasional customizations, scripting, or minor enhancements to supported applications using relevant development tools
Collaborate with IT team members to implement system upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery procedures
Document support tickets, resolutions, and procedures to build a knowledge base for future reference
Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues to minimize downtime
Provide training and guidance to end-users on software usage and best practices
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in IT support, software troubleshooting, or a similar role
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including Windows servers, networking (TCP/IP, firewalls), and virtualization tools (e.g., VMware or Hyper-V)
Familiarity with common IT support tools, remote desktop software, and diagnostic utilities
Basic knowledge of software development in C# and JavaScript, including the ability to read, debug, and make minor modifications to existing code
Basic understanding of web development concepts (e.g., HTML/CSS, REST APIs, client-server architecture) to assist with web-based application support and integrations
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with non-technical users and document processes clearly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for after-hours support as needed
Preferred
Experience with database management (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) related to content management systems
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation tasks
Hands-on experience with .NET frameworks (for C#) or modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Node.js)
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Google Cloud fundamentals, or relevant developer certifications are a plus
