Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing care, first aid, and health support to students during the school day
Administer medications and document care according to physician orders and school policies
Monitor students with chronic conditions and report changes in health status to the Certified School Nurse
Support staff with student health needs and communicate effectively with families when appropriate
Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant health office environment
Qualification
Required
Current Virginia license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Minimum of two years of experience providing nursing services to children
Knowledge of medical disorders, treatment procedures, medication administration, and infection control
Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to school health services
Strong communication, documentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate with students, families, staff, and multidisciplinary team members
Valid Virginia driver's license
