Tulane University School of Medicine is a leader in neurology and is seeking a Neuropsychologist to join their Healthy Brain Aging Initiative. This role involves conducting comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with various cognitive disorders and participating in clinical research initiatives.

Responsibilities
Comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with aging, behavioral, and cognitive disorders including: cognitive complaints but normal neurological examinations (subjective cognitive impairment), mild cognitive impairment, early dementia (Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, Lewy body dementia, frontotemporal dementia), primary progressive aphasia, posterior cortical atrophy, and other neurocognitive and neurobehavioral disorders
Comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with other neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, Huntington’s disease, and other movement disorders. Standard assessments pre- and post- deep brain stimulation surgery
Comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with other neurological disorders, where neurocognitive, neurobehavioral, or neuropsychiatric manifestations are suspected
Conduct neuropsychological assessments of research subjects in support of the population health initiatives and clinical trials research of the Tulane Healthy Brain Aging Initiative, and more broadly of the Department of Neurology and Center for Clinical Neurosciences. Submit grants for external funding support to NIH and similar sources, to offset salary expenses and to grow Neurology research revenues
Qualification
Required
Clinical and research experience in neuropsychology
Ability to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with aging, behavioral, and cognitive disorders
Experience with cognitive complaints but normal neurological examinations, mild cognitive impairment, early dementia, primary progressive aphasia, posterior cortical atrophy, and other neurocognitive and neurobehavioral disorders
Experience with comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients with neurological disorders including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and other movement disorders
Ability to conduct neuropsychological assessments of research subjects in support of population health initiatives and clinical trials
Experience in submitting grants for external funding support to NIH and similar sources
