Account Manager

Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of stop loss account activity post sale (new business and renewal) for an account including collection of outstanding requirements for policy issuance
Schedule and conduct onboarding calls, when necessary to ensure a positive initial customer experience
Establish account files through onboarding process, including contact information, EOR and claim reimbursement method, updating the Group Captive Division database, initiating reporting with TPAs, setting up commissions and assignment of account manager in the David Young System
Primary service contact for assigned stop loss book of business including claims payment inquiries, premium remittance and collection, establishing/reviewing commissions/sub-producer fees and collection of outstanding requirements to ensure timely policy issuance. Identify and resolve any issues that come up in these areas
Review overdue premium reporting monthly, pursue any overdue premiums and work with Premium Collection team to ensure that all shortfalls or overpayments are resolved satisfactorily. When necessary, prepare reconciliations to resolve discrepancies in premium payments
Upon request, prepare Schedule A – Form 5500 requests for information
Review commission payment summaries monthly for accuracy and take any remediation on a timely basis to ensure that incorrect payments are minimized
Manage communication with the broker, TPA and policyholder as needed to ensure appropriate administration of the policy
Manage on time and accurate deliverables from proposal acceptance through policy issuance, including review and quality assurance with materials released
Review and distribution of implementation materials to brokers for transmittal to policyholder
Develop relationships with appropriate day to day key contacts at broker, TPA, vendors and policyholder
Provide home office support to business development and regional sales teams, when necessary to ensure that customer needs are met
Effectively team with all functional areas within the company including but not limited to Business Development/Sales, Underwriting, Claims, and Policy Issuance teams
Manage all incoming voice mail and e-mail within acceptable service delivery timeframes
Special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
College degree or equivalent work experience
Customer focused, pro-active mindset; excellent organizational, interpersonal and project management skills
Day-to-day client management experience
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a strong ability to learn and understand ways to organize high activity
Demonstrate good judgment, ability to prioritize, and sense of urgency with the ability to work autonomously
Demonstrate a teamwork mindset and commitment to account results
Experienced knowledge with Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; presentation skills highly preferred
Ability to travel an for annual meeting (2.5 days)
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with management and staff to further the company's mission
Must exhibit professional behavior at all times while representing or being identified as an employee of Berkley Accident and Health
Preferred
3-5 year's group insurance or reinsurance experience
In-depth knowledge of Employer Stop Loss business preferred
Previous Account Manager experience highly desired
Strong consulting and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with brokers, clients, and service vendors
