Facility Infrastructure & Field Tech Supervisor - Systems Supervisor
Minnesota IT Services is the information technology agency for the State of Minnesota, and they are seeking a Facility Infrastructure & Field Tech Supervisor. Responsibilities
Supervise and support the Facilities Infrastructure and Field Technical Support Section
Ensure that they can effectively and efficiently build and maintain network infrastructure systems
Qualification
Required
Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting network technologies
Experience must include: Two (2) years of lead work or supervisory experience
Proven leadership of technical teams delivering enterprise network services, including coaching, performance management, and cross-functional coordination
End-to-end network project delivery: planning, organizing, scheduling, and implementing major network upgrades/migrations across multi-site environments
Work with core networking domains: WAN, VPN, LAN, Wireless LAN, network design, installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Vendor and contract management for network circuits (fiber/copper Ethernet), including procurement coordination, SLAs, and escalation management, and participation in budgeting processes
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding
Customer-focused approach grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences
Preferred
Exposure to outside/inside plant cable maintenance and management, including fiber design, splicing coordination, and plant documentation
Experience with advanced network services and architectures such as FTTP, DWDM, and SD-WAN
Deep familiarity with TCP/IP and Ethernet services, including QoS, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and segmentation (VLANs/VXLAN)
Proficiency with network management and observability tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NetBox, Splunk, Wireshark, Cisco DNA Center, Aruba Central)
Track record of stakeholder communication at executive and customer levels briefings, status reporting, and translating technical issues into business impacts
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP/Enterprise, JNCIP, CWNA/CWNP, ITIL Foundation) or equivalent demonstrated expertise
Experience in public sector or large enterprise environments, including governance, standards compliance, budgeting cycles, and change management
Proven ability to foster team development by promoting collaboration, trust, and knowledge sharing, while empowering individuals to achieve collective goals
