Responsibilities

Recruits and reviews candidates for the Rady School of Management's graduate business programs
Responsible for outreach; recruitment; tracking/monitoring outreach efforts towards prospective applicants, applicants, and admitted applicants
Application file review
Application assessment and admissions decision-making recommendations
Admitted student yield
Recruitment event planning and implementation---locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally
Uses data to identify and recruit potential applicants
Provides information on admissions-related issues to the general public
Fosters and maintains good working relationships with UCSD colleagues, the public, organizations involved in outreach recruitment, as well as other UC business schools
Independently reviews and/or evaluates domestic and international applications for admission into Rady School of Management graduate programs
Works as a team with other Graduate Admission professionals
Interacts with the Executive Directors of each graduate program
Uses professional judgment and a comprehensive knowledge of educational processes
Performs with a high level of autonomy
Interacts directly with prospective applicants, applicants, and admitted students in person at admissions/recruitment events
Assesses the academic preparedness for graduate business school, career progression and career goals
Some domestic travel may be expected; very rare international travel for some graduate business programs
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport and/or REAL ID
Must be available to work evenings/weekends during peak periods and due to Admissions/Recruitment events

Required

Strong experience (more than 5 years) working in Admissions/Recruitment in a graduate business school, experience recruiting for an MBA or other graduate business program, experience assessing and evaluating candidates based on the suitability of their background, educational achievements, and professional goals
Direct marketing/sales experience. Experience creating content for informational materials, traditional (paper) and online, chats, texts, emails. Experience crafting accurate content with the goal of promoting an educational organization
Experience working with a professional population comprised of senior managers and leaders
Experience independently organizing and implementing admissions/recruitment informational programs for a wide, diverse audience
Experience planning and implementing outreach events, recruitment fairs, open houses, online events etc to promote information sharing related to Admissions and Recruitment. Leadership skills in recruiting for onsite and/or innovative online programs
Presentation skills online and in person. Experience delivering effective and engaging professional presentations and Q & A sessions to large and small audiences
Experience independently conducting individual admission evaluations/interviews and assessments (domestic and international). Experience using independent judgment to make admission decisions and recommendations
Knowledge of admission-related technology including CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems. Efficiency in utilizing technology and data to effectively execute the responsibilities of an Admissions Officer, from outreach and recruitment to application review, evaluation and yield
Experience with recruitment yield management. Experience creating a strategic plan to reach out to engage both prospective applicants and admitted students
Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials. Experience prioritizing recruitment outreach efforts based on yield and on recruitment/admissions goals. Experience developing strategies for recruitment/outreach activities with the ultimate goal of enrolling qualified graduate students
Experience providing effective advising to students, preferably in areas of graduate education. Experience interacting with admitted and denied applicants
Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the use of diplomacy, tact, and collaboration
