Development Officer II Community Assistance
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is focused on expanding affordable housing opportunities for lower-income citizens. Responsibilities
Administration of federal and state grants which provide financial assistance for lower income renter households
Preparing reports and relative documentation in accordance with Housing and Urban Development guidelines
Submitting compliance reports and tracking program metrics through Housing and Urban Development secure systems
Administering Housing Choice Voucher programs, including eligibility determination, subsidy calculations, and client counseling
Qualification
Required
Seven years of community assistance experience in residential or commercial real estate development, governmental housing, community development or infrastructure development programs, including market research, planning, financial management, loan or grant program administration, capital projects or project development
Experience preparing reports and relative documentation in accordance with Housing and Urban Development guidelines
Experience submitting compliance reports and tracking program metrics through Housing and Urban Development secure systems
Experience administering Housing Choice Voucher programs, including eligibility determination, subsidy calculations, and client counseling
Possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland
Provide sufficient information on your application to document that you meet the minimum qualifications for this recruitment

Successful candidates must document eligibility to work in the U.S. upon hire
All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States under the Immigration and Reform Control Act of 1986
Preferred
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in urban planning, financial management, business or public administration, political science, economic, marketing, management science or a related field and three years of community assistance experience in residential or commercial real estate development, governmental housing, community development or infrastructure development programs
Graduate credit hours in urban planning, financial management, business or public administration, political science, economics, marketing, management science or a closely related field on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Business and Industry job family or Business and Industry job codes on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
