Analyst, Demand Planning - Business Analytics

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate demand forecasts, optimized inventory levels, and seamless execution of planning processes while collaborating closely with various departments to align demand and inventory plans with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Execute accurate forecasting by leveraging statistical models and incorporating Sales and Category Management feedback
Perform regular forecast reviews (weekly/monthly) to identify variances, trends, or unexpected shifts in demand
Document key forecast changes and underlying assumptions to ensure transparency and repeatability
Conduct deep dive analysis to derive insights to improve forecasting and decision-making capabilities
Monitor forecast performance metrics and develop/execute action plans for improvements
Maintain and continuously refine inventory planning parameters to ensure alignment with demand variability, service-level targets, and supplier constraints
Monitor inventory positions daily/weekly to prevent stockouts, backorders, and unplanned service gaps. Conduct structured root-cause analyses to understand drivers and take proactive actions where required
Track and analyze inbound supply, identifying potential risks such as late shipments, short ships, supplier capacity issues, or transit delays; collaborate with Procurement and Operations to resolve exceptions
Execute inventory optimization initiatives by leveraging analytics
Partner with Sales, Procurement, and Category Management to monitor supply risks and implement contingency plans
Maintain high accuracy of all inventory-related master data and work with cross-functional partners to correct discrepancies in lead times, MOQs, pack sizes, order multiples, and supplier calendars
Ensure replenishment and inventory activities follow established SOPs and planning governance, contributing to consistency and discipline across the team
Drive continuous improvement and recommend enhancements to the inventory planning strategy, tools, and workflows
Own and lead the S&OP cadence end-to-end, driving inputs, alignment, and meeting flow across different departments
Actively “quarterback” the process by leading cross-functional preparation and accountability, ensuring every function comes with validated inputs and clear explanations
Apply analytics to integrate demand, supply, and inventory positions into a clear, forward-looking outlook that highlights service risks, excess exposure, and revenue impacts
Continuously improve the S&OP workflow, reducing manual effort, simplifying templates, and raising planning discipline across the organization
Reinforce a culture of preparation and follow-through, ensuring S&OP as a core business process that drives customer service and working-capital performance
Maintain high-quality planning master data (lead times, MOQs, min/max, safety stock, ABC classes) through routine audits and coordinated updates
Monitor system outputs, identify parameter or data issues, and drive timely corrections with cross-functional partners
Own documentation of planning processes, data rules, parameter definitions, and workflow changes to ensure clarity and long-term consistency
Support enhancements to planning tools and workflows, partnering with IT/Analytics and assisting with testing, training, and change adoption
Eliminate unnecessary manual work through automation, streamlined processes, and improved data visibility

Required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related field
3+ years of experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain management, or other analytical roles
Strong analytical skills, able to process and view data in multiple perspectives to derive insights
Strong communication skills, able to influence stakeholders across Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Finance
Proficiency with MS Office
