Responsibilities
Evaluate, develop, and qualify new and existing suppliers according to Carcoustics quality standards and IATF 16949 requirements
Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa)
Lead supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions and documentation reviews
Monitor supplier performance metrics (PPM, delivery performance, audit results) and drive continuous improvement
Support problem-solving activities for supplier-related issues and implement sustainable solutions
Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure quality and cost optimization throughout the supply chain
Participate in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities for new product launches
Maintain regular communication with suppliers to align quality expectations and technical requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or similar roles in the automotive industry
Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
Experience with quality tools such as 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, and Control Plans
Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Availability to travel to supplier locations as needed
Preferred
Fluent in Spanish language
1-3 years experience in supplier auditing using VDA 6.3 method
1-3 years experience as Supplier Quality Development Engineer supporting product launch
