Responsibilities
Design drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, and water management infrastructure for Sussex Conservation District projects
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
Prepare engineering plans and specifications
Design bank stabilization projects
Develop erosion and sediment control plans
Conduct field investigations at project sites
Coordinate with contractors, municipalities, tax ditch organizations, and regulatory agencies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in drainage design, stormwater engineering, or water resources engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
A valid Delaware driver's license
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, or equivalent)
Preferred
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Delaware or ability to obtain within one year
Experience with public sector or conservation district drainage programs
DNREC regulatory coordination and tax ditch systems
Certifications in stormwater management or erosion control (CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI) are a plus
