Lead Tax Examining Technician

Responsibilities
Distributes, balances, monitors and reports on workload in accordance with established workflow or job specialization. Assures equitable distribution among employees and timely accomplishment of assigned workload
Amends or rejects work not meeting established standards and refers to supervisor any problems on meeting performance standards
Maintains current knowledge of procedures, policies and directives; answers questions; and provides both classroom and OJT instruction to employees
Resolves simple informal complaints, refers others to supervisor, reports on performance, progress and training needs of employees and on disciplinary problems
Qualification
Required
You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service
Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience using business tax law, IRM, IRC, IRS collection techniques and enforcement actions, tax forms, notices, bills, and other documents to advise the taxpayer of options for meeting tax obligations
Investigative/probing techniques to solicit relevant information
Communicating specialized information orally or in writing with internal and external customers regarding inventory management procedures
Providing clear and concise replies to taxpayers or their representatives
Experience processing IMF Rejects and IMF RAW
You must meet applicable TIG requirements to be considered eligible
You must have served at least one year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade (or equivalent) in the normal line of progression for the position you are applying to
