Director of Technical Services
Piper Maddox is a leading solar inverter manufacturing firm in the country, seeking a Director of Technical Services to build a new division from the ground up. The role involves leading technical services strategy, execution, and growth, while interfacing with clients, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure the success of the technical services portfolio.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary owner for client service initiatives, service agreements, and aftermarket support activities
Oversee active service cases and field issues, coordinating internal functions and external partners to ensure timely resolution
Collect and evaluate supplier analyses, determine corrective actions, and communicate outcomes clearly to stakeholders
Escalate risks or critical issues appropriately to leadership to protect customer relationships and business outcomes
Ensure all service activities align with expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and contractual compliance
Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, supply chain, project management, and external partners to deliver service projects successfully
Align global and regional resources to support execution of service commitments and strategic initiatives
Secure organizational support and resources required to implement technical services strategies
Develop annual demand forecasts and operating plans for the technical services portfolio, including orders, revenue, and margin expectations
Track and report performance metrics for service bookings and sales, providing analysis and actionable insights to leadership
Apply data-driven analysis to guide investment decisions, portfolio optimization, and growth strategies
Evaluate current capabilities, solutions, and technologies to identify opportunities for service expansion or enhancement
Analyze market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive positioning to inform service roadmap decisions
Define customer needs across targeted industries and assess how evolving economic and technical trends may impact demand
Create business cases and strategic plans for introducing new technical service offerings and entering new markets
Define market requirements and initiate development requests for new services, upgrades, or bundled solutions
Partner with engineering, marketing, and business development teams to shape offerings that support long-term growth objectives
Establish and maintain visibility into available service offerings, ensuring consistency and standardization across the organization
Support development and execution of launch strategies for new service offerings in collaboration with commercial teams
