Responsibilities
Develop customer intimacy through regular store visits and competitive shopping; applies findings with Sales and Product Development team
Develop and present an overall product assortment for each season
Supervise product development process to ensure that the merchandise consistently appeals to the customer's needs
Responsible for all meetings and outcomes and make sure the team adheres to project deadlines
Communicate with company management to recommend business opportunities and ways to increase sales and optimize profit
Partner with Design and stay current on fashion and technology trends. Bring customer and market perspective to the design and product development process
Approve sketches, color prints, concepts with Design team
Collaborate with design, product development and sourcing staff to meet costing targets on all products developed seasonally
Attend sales meetings and make presentations as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree required
5+ years in Home Textiles/ Fashion/ Apparel merchandising
Must have acute sense of customer intimacy and product category
Strong English language skills, written and verbal
Able to make presentations in front of customers
Strategic thinking and management skills
Multi-functional with excellent organizational skills
Computer literate. Knowledge of Design a plus
Excellent analytic skills needed with a knowledge of P& L, costing/margins
