Responsibilities
Oversee the production floor: optimize the workforce using lean manufacturing principles
Manage production planning for the department and coordinate with other production managers
Work with engineering on prototypes and to help design components for ease of in-house manufacturing. Ensure products meet or exceed all quality standards and drawing specifications
Oversee daily and ongoing preventive maintenance programs on all equipment
Reduce costs throughout the factory with inventory management and work flow optimization
Execute strategic directions for factory operations
Install KPI metrics for quality, cost, inventory turns, labor efficiencies, fill rate and on-time deliveries
Integrate a new ERP system
Uphold factory work rules and disseminate with consistency
Participate in IBEW Union Negotiations
Manage machine operations
Manage vendors and report issues to CEO
Manager factory employees with the Human Resources Manager and report issues to CEO. Maintain high morale and low turnover
Qualification
Required
B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering or related
five plus years of progressive manufacturing management success
Strong operating systems, including ERP, Excel, Word, Blueprint Reading and Wiring Diagrams
Excellent communication skills
Experience with metal fabrication equipment including CNC programming: MIG welding, turret, router, and brake operations
written and verbal skills in English are a must. You must be proactively and forthrightly a communicator and a collaborator
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Standing and walking throughout the day
Preferred
Knowledge of Spanish is a plus
