Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Provide legal counsel on corporate matters to support organizational decision-making
Advise on employment and labor law issues, including compliance and dispute resolution
Manage workers' compensation cases and ensure adherence to relevant legal requirements
Oversee litigation defense strategies and collaborate with outside counsel when necessary
Develop and implement policies to minimize legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance
Conduct thorough contract reviews to identify potential risks and areas for improvement
Support the legal needs of operations within the trucking, logistics, and farming industries
Stay updated on legal trends and changes relevant to the company’s business sectors
Assist in training staff on legal matters and contract management best practices
Qualification
Required
Comprehensive experience as a practicing attorney in corporate law
Expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers
Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, including compliance requirements
Proven experience handling workers' compensation cases and related legal matters
Familiarity with litigation defense and managing relationships with outside counsel
Ability to analyze complex legal documents and identify potential risks
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with diverse stakeholders
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to a state bar association
