Eaton is a leader in electrical power distribution and is currently seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2026. In this twelve-week paid internship, you will assist in developing software for smart grid applications, gaining hands-on experience in engineering competencies and working alongside experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

Implement features to configure, monitor, and update power system intelligent electronic devices, including advanced UX design, IDE development, graphical data representation and display, communication protocols, cybersecurity, and other relay, control and monitoring functions using .NET and C#

Implement designs based on product and interface requirements with guidance from lead software engineers

Work with functional managers, systems engineers, and lead software engineers to distill product/system requirements/use cases to software stories, developing module and system level code, and unit tests

Participate in tasks related to new product development including planning, task/story estimation, programming, unit testing, peer review, integration and release

Participate in the analysis and specification of software subsystems

Implement tests in support of developer testing activities and integration with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines

Participate in design and code reviews

Required

Actively enrolled in or received a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2026

Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above
