Independent Contractor - Commission-Based Edison Inspector (Inland Empire)
Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE) is a community nonprofit organization serving over 60,000 residents annually across Los Angeles County. PACE is seeking experienced independent contractors to perform Edison-related inspections for residential and commercial electrical and solar projects throughout the Inland Empire.

Responsibilities
Perform field inspections for Edison-related work (solar, panel upgrades, meter changes, NEM/PTO, service upgrades, etc.)
Verify compliance with SCE guidelines, electrical codes, and safety standards
Take site photos and complete digital inspection forms
Communicate results with homeowners, contractors, and internal teams
Provide corrective action notes when needed
Manage your own schedule, routes, and workload as an independent business
Submit completed inspections within required timelines
Qualification
Required
Experience in electrical, utility, inspections, solar, or related fields
Strong understanding of electrical systems and jobsite safety
Must operate as a 1099 independent contractor
Reliable transportation, smartphone, and basic field tools
Professional communication skills
Ability to work in varying weather and jobsite conditions
Provide your own vehicle, tools, PPE, and mobile device
Maintain auto insurance (liability insurance recommended)
Ability to invoice for completed work
Operate as your own business entity (1099 structure)
Maintain professionalism and safety standards at all times
Preferred
HERS Rater Certification
Previous Edison/SCE inspection experience
Electrical contractor or journeyman experience
Certifications such as ICC, NABCEP, etc
