They are seeking a Laboratory Technologist II for the Flow Cytometry Laboratory to perform high complexity testing and contribute to the diagnosis and monitoring of patients' immune systems.

Responsibilities

Perform technical duties in all laboratory sections, as assigned
Review test orders and verify accuracy of corresponding specimens
Maintain digital files in a neat and accessible manner
Accurately maintain specimen identity from entry to the lab to release of results
Navigate laboratory information systems proficiently
Be aware of and contribute to the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory
Restock reagents and supplies as necessary
Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Standard Operating Procedures
Perform routine equipment maintenance
Handle the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned

New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist LicenseFlow CytometryBachelor’s degreeAnalytical skillsTechnical skillsCommunication skillsAttention to detailMotivation to learn

Required

A current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (licenses restricted to flow cytometry are acceptable)
A Bachelor's degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Motivation to constantly learn and to develop your skills in a highly sophisticated and demanding laboratory setting
Strong analytical and technical skills
Meticulous attention to detail

Preferred

Some experience in flow cytometry is preferred
Candidates with a keen interest in flow cytometry, an eagerness to learn, and at least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience will be considered
