The University of California, Davis is seeking an Assistant Dean of Development for the College of Letters and Science. This role involves managing a complex fundraising program, developing donor relationships, and overseeing a team of fundraising professionals to achieve impactful fundraising goals.

Required

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Advanced knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor and public relations, including principles, concepts, techniques and procedures
Advanced knowledge of and experience with the design and implementation of identification, cultivation and solicitation strategies and techniques
Demonstrated success soliciting and securing the highest-level philanthropic gifts
Successful track record developing strategic relationships with donors
Advanced skills to conceive, design, engage in collaborative strategic planning, implement and evaluate effective fundraising programs
Advanced managerial and team building skills to effectively oversee a large team of fundraisers and administrative staff
Expert political acumen, to establish and maintain excellent working relationships at all organizational levels and with outside constituencies, including donors, volunteers, and subject matter experts
Demonstrated expert experience conceiving, writing and editing fundraising presentations, case statements, and proposals for support of program priorities
Expert written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred

Recent experience with and demonstrated success in funding endowed chairs and professorships is strongly preferred
Awareness, knowledge, and skill in applying inclusion to one's work
A profound belief in the value of a safe workforce and a commitment to achieve this goal through collaboration and team building, working cooperatively with a large group of department and campus constituencies
