Responsibilities

Auditing employer records and investigating employer/worker relationships to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal statute as well as UI rules, regulations, standards, and procedures
Performing timely management of audit and investigation caseloads
Ensuring work quality meets all Tax Performance System (TPS) measures
Keeping up-to-date with current UI laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures

Required

Auditing employer records and investigating employer/worker relationships to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal statute as well as UI rules, regulations, standards, and procedures
Performing timely management of audit and investigation caseloads
Ensuring work quality meets all Tax Performance System (TPS) measures
Keeping up-to-date with current UI laws, rules, regulations, standards, and procedures
Functional knowledge Microsoft Word and Excel
Math skills equal to one year of college calculating and working with numbers
Effective interpersonal skills
Positive history of professional communication with internal and external customers
Able to navigate and handle difficult situations and conversations with angry customers in person
Adept at explaining compliance issues and de-escalating confrontational disputes with business owners, accountants and attorneys
Experience with the analysis of financial records and data
Ability to interpret and retain intricate laws, rules, regulations, and procedures
Capacity to make informed decisions based on facts, laws and rules
Clear and concise writing skills which convey complex analysis in an understandable style
Willingness to remain informed and improve skills
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and complete assignments within time constraints
Must be able to travel to the employer's designated location within the State of Utah to complete assignments
