Responsibilities
Conducts engineering reviews of complex mining and reclamation applications to ensure all techniques and designs comply with State Statutes and Regulations
Performs on-site inspections of proposed and permitted mine sites to verify that field conditions match application narratives and technical drawings
Analyzes engineering data to establish performance standards and environmental limits for mining operations
Assists the Dam Engineer with specialized inspections and evaluations of impoundments
Acts as a Team Leader by tracking project status, preparing work reports, and coordinating with other State and Federal agencies for compliance guidance
Authors detailed technical reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations derived from inspections and permit reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering
OR Bachelor's degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university with a major in Civil, Electrical, Electrical Design, Mechanical, Chemical or Mining Engineering Technology
Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in engineering
OR Master's degree in engineering may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience
A valid driver's license is required
Preferred
Degree and/or experience in Civil and Mining Engineering
