Business Development Director - CPG
Hanover Research is a global research and analytics firm that delivers market intelligence through a unique, fixed-fee model. They are seeking a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Business Development Director to consult with senior-level CPG Executives, leveraging market research capabilities to drive revenue and growth in the sector.

Responsibilities
Own a full-cycle sales process from initial outreach to client onboarding
Segment a territory of approximately 700+ accounts to strategically target and engage via a multi-channel approach (email, phone, social media, in-person events, etc.)
Consult with prospects to identify challenges and issues impacting their CPG business
Educate prospects on solutions offered by Hanover’s unique products and services, including a.) a fixed-fee annual engagement model, b.) ad hoc productized offerings, and c.) new innovations
Manage a robust pipeline of prospects vis-à-vis a dedicated Business Development Associate working in tandem with you
Accurately forecast based upon realistic opportunity assessment
Meet challenging monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
Embrace on-going learning and bring a can-do mindset to business building
Qualification
Required
4-7 years of consultative sales experience working in market research or a related field
2-5+ years of experience selling into the Consumer Packaged Good industry
Familiarity with the CPG value chain across branded and private label manufacturers
Natural curiosity
Grit – namely the ability to power through challenges with a positive mindset, creativity, and drive
Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to teach, tailor, and lead a narrative
Business acumen – namely the ability to understand and empathize the root causes and needs of senior-level CPG executives
Strong organization skills and ability to manage a busy pipeline and meeting calendar
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred (business, social sciences, education, communications, political science, economics, psychology, public policy preferred)
