Process Engineering Intern

The Process Engineering Intern will support continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic aerospace manufacturing environment, collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations teams to enhance workflow efficiency and overall process performance.

Responsibilities
Automate setup sheets to enable mass changes to temperature profiles
Support schedule automation tasks to streamline production planning
Develop and implement a Gemba walk visual management system
Address safety issues and assist in reducing JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) risks
Support quality trials, including design of experiments (DOE) and data collection
Participate in productivity and process improvement initiatives
Enhance 5S practices, including improving point‑of‑use tooling and workspace organization
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Rising Junior or Senior preferred
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work with data, perform basic analysis, and document findings
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to engage in hands‑on engineering activities
Successful completion of a drug screening and physical exam required
Regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking
Occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching
Ability to view computer screens for extended periods
Manual dexterity for computer and measuring tools
May occasionally lift/move items up to 50 pounds
Ability to work safely on the production floor

Familiarity with process improvement tools (Lean, 5S, root cause analysis) is a plus
