Responsibilities
Drives electrical equipment supplier quality improvement initiatives, supports supplier selection for the region and conducts supplier audits
Leads part qualification processes through implementation of product quality plans, equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and manufacturing process qualifications
Assesses equipment quality and manufacturing processes to ensure suppliers meet Microsoft capabilities and requirements, address non-conformances, mitigate escaping defects that may impact sites, and develop critical supplier engagement strategies to proactively address gaps
Performs root cause analysis of equipment failures
Provides technical support and guidance for improving equipment reliability
Partners with NPI, supply chain, engineering, construction, and vendors to identify equipment quality performance gaps, testing protocols, and implement corrective actions at suppliers
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience
OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience
OR equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, process improvement or related experience in electrical system equipment such as LV/MV, PDUs, Transformers, UPS, etc
Technical knowledge, ideally with experience in multiple sectors and industries
Experience with data center operations, EPC, or mission critical equipment
Experience with manufacturing environments, technical specifications
Lean 6 Sigma Greenbelt / Gemba experience
