Federal Work-study | Marketing Assistant

The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking a Marketing Assistant through a Federal Work-study program. The role involves assisting with student volunteers for photo shoots, data entry, inventory management, and interacting with university personnel and students.

Responsibilities

Assist with student volunteers for photo shoots, contacting students for necessary forms and supporting documentation, data entry of information, scheduling appointments, and being the contact person for photo shoots
File, copy, and print documents and make return phone calls
Performs data entry, as needed
Works with vendor to order promotional items and maintains inventory
Runs campus errands (special duties)
Organize boxes of supplies and promotional items in storage
Interacts with all levels of university personnel, students, and the general population
Works with other staff in University Relations
Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

Have the ability to multi-task and interact professionally with staff, faculty and students
Be dependable and outgoing
Be enrolled in at least 6 college credit hours
Have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Be familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Be well organized, responsible, punctual, and a self-starter
Have good people skills and a professional attitude and appearance
Must be a current UHD student
Must be in good academic standing
Have a work-study award from the Office of Financial Aid
