Fiscal Technician II - DoFS (Central Office)

Responsibilities
Execute all functions necessary to process private insurance/HMO collections, which includes, but is not limited to: entering claims into the appropriate web portal; processing any rejections received; posting payments from EOB's on a daily basis; correcting discrepancies when discovered! and updating accounts when needed
Participate in customer service functions for self-pay client accounts. Includes: financial assessments; daily posting and balancing of accounts; application of hardship reductions to balances per DH policy/procedure; establishment of payment plans with clients for outstanding balances
In coordination with Reception, Access/Mobile Crisis, School Based services, and Utilization Manager, executes all functions necessary for pre-certification and re-certification of patient services as needed and verifying patient coverage, which includes, but not limited to: checking eligibility and coverage of insurance for patient; providing information regarding coverage to patient or clinician in order for patient to make an informed decision about treatment; entering insurance information into CIS; and making any necessary changes to the patient's account with the addition/deletion of insurance coverage (transferring the service(s) to the appropriate payer source)
In Coordination with QA/QI and AR managers, executes all functions necessary for the certification and credentialing of Center providers for private insurance/HMO provider panels, and assist with Medicare as needed
Comply with training requirements set forth by BCHC/SCHDD. These may include but are not limited to SCEIS trainings, AAA Driver Improvement training, MAPS training and Ql In-services
Adhere to Center, DMH and State Corporate Compliance policies, procedures and regulations
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience in a related trades area or general billing maintenance
Preferred
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus
Certified Medical Biller or Certified Professional Biller Certification
Knowledge of medical coding certifications CPT, ICD10CM and HCPCS
Proficient in medical billing software
